Costa Rica Finca El Venado

The Cerro San Luis Micromill is family owned and operated mill producing washed, natural, and honey processed coffees. The family also owns and operates their own coffee farms including El Venado. Alexander and Magali, who are brother and sister, grew up harvesting and processing coffee on their family’s farm and decided that their own mill would be the best way to expand their business and improve their coffees. Today, they grow and process many types of coffee including the famous SL28, native to Kenya, which is the coffee that we’re featuring this year.
SL28 is native to Kenya, Uganda, and Malawi, and Zimbabwe. It’s known to be very drought tolerant and to have excellent cup quality. This variety has gained popularity all over the world especially in Costa Rica for these valuable attributes.
