Costa Rica F1 Centroamericano

Longtime fans of Brioso Coffee will remember this coffee! It’s been a while since we’ve had an F1 hybrid variety and we are excited to bring it back. “F1” is a term for an early generation hybrid of two or more coffee varieties. This F1 is a hybrid of the coffee varieties Sachimor/Villa Sarchi and Catimor/Rume Sudan. There are many F1 hybrid varieties in production today all over the world, the main draw to producing them is increased vigor which can mean more disease resistance, higher crop yield, and climate adaptability. The coffee industry is in a state of change and these hybrid varieties ensure that coffee can still be produced at the highest quality in changing environmental conditions.

Our team was excited to bring this coffee back to our cupping table and it did not disappoint. The coffee has a delicate quality to it while still packing in some interesting fruit flavors that we enjoy in natural processed Costa Rican coffees. The peachy/raspberry stays throughout the cup and finishes in a delightfully light chamomile and raisin sweetness. Enjoy as a single cup pourover, single origin cold brew, or an espresso! You really can’t go wrong with this wonderful coffee.
