Villa Betuila is a family farm in Huila Colombia run by Luis Aníbal Calerón and his family. The farm grows over 30 different coffee varietals including many rare varieties you might be familiar with like Gesha, Java, and Pink Bourbon. Villa Betuila is a celebrated specialty coffee farm focusing on craftsmanship in pursuit of excellent specialty Colombian Coffees.
This coffee starts after harvest with a very long fermentation period. The first 36 hours are anaerobic (oxygen depleted) then transferred to plastic bags for further fermentation for 114 more hours. After the fermentation the coffee is dried slowly over 8 days. As you can imagine, all this time leads to an intense flavor experience that is truly WILD.
