Coopetarrazu was founded in 1960 and currently has 5,000 members and 10,000 annual employees in coffee production and other supportive roles. Coops play a huge and essential role in coffee production for small farmers and their communities by providing many types of assistance and resources throughout harvest and production of specialty coffees. Coopetarrazu not only produces fine specialty Costa Rican coffees through better and consistent evaluation, but also a voice and equal profits to members.
